  Rod End Heim Joint Kits

  UTVUDE's custom rod end fabrication kits include:

  • Heavy duty heim joints made from 4130 Chromoly steel alloy, with Nylon PTFE liner for maximum strength and durability for any fabrication project. Unlike most of our competitors, our heim joints include matching jam nuts.
  • Chromoly heim joints are stronger and longer lasting than standard heims. Our heim joint rod ends are available in a variety of sizes: 1/2", 5/8”, 3/4”, and 7/8”.
  • Threaded weld bungs give the ultimate in link strength due to the precise fit and the number of threads for each given heim joint size. UTVDUDE's weld bung tube adapters available in Left and Right hand thread.
  • Optional: High Misalignment Spacers are designed to give you greater misalignment than a rod end can do alone. Misalignment Spacers keep your suspension from binding and enhance range of motion. They also act to locate the rod end in the pocket

  Our weld bung tube adapters are essential for building off road links. 4130 Chromoly construction, with tapered profile, precision machining and fully threaded center holes for easy, convenient fabricating. They are available different styles and in left and right hand thread.

  • Tube Adapter (7/8-14) For 1 3/4" ID Tube

  Installation Tips for Weld Bung Tube Adapters

  When installing tube adapters, follow these tips to ensure a proper weld joint is made for strong, reliable links.

  • Clean the tubing you are using to bare shiny metal within ½” from where the weld will be using either a flap disc or grinding stone.
  • Grind a bevel into the end of the tube to match the tube insert. This allows for a better penetrating weld.
  • Drill one or two 3/8” to 1/2” holes into the tubing about half way down the insert to allow for a plug weld.
  • When welding the insert, leave out your joint to avoid ruining the threads when you remove it after it cools.
