Proposition 65
Overview
ABOUT PROPOSITION 65
Proposition 65, officially the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a California law that requires businesses to notify consumers if a product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU
The Proposition 65 list includes over 900 chemicals often found in everyday materials like vinyl, plastics, and coatings. Since UTV and automotive components frequently utilize these materials (such as in wiring, fabrics, and molded plastics), we provide these notices to ensure our customers are fully informed.
A Proposition 65 notice does not mean a product violates any safety standards. California requires this disclosure even for trace amounts of listed chemicals to ensure "clear and reasonable" notification for residents of that state.
